DBasia.news – Real Madrid has continued to lend their players to Premier League clubs. After Dani Ceballos went to Arsenal, it was Jesus Vallejo’s turn to be on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
This time the player is a 22-year-old center back, Jesus Vallejo. The Spain U-21 national team defender was loaned to Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolverhampton Wanderers club in a long-term loan deal.
“Real Madrid and Wolverhampton Wanderers have agreed to transfer Jesus Vallejo for next season until June 30, 2020,” Real Madrid wrote on their official website.
Joining Madrid from Real Zaragoza in 2015, Vallejo was loaned by Madrid to Zaragoza (2015-16) and Eintracht Frankfurt (2016-17). A great performance with Frankfurt in the 2016-17 season that convinced Madrid to continue to use his services.
Nevertheless, fierce competition in Madrid has made it difficult for Vallejo to appear regularly, especially he was often injured. Last season, he only played seven times. In total, Vallejo played 19 times and several matches in the Champions League.
Vallejo became the third recruit for Wolves this summer. Previously, Wolves signed a contract for two loan players last season, Raul Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker. Jimenez was purchased for 38 million euros and Dendoncker for 13.15 million euros.
Vallejo’s departure indirectly opened the opportunity for Eder Militao to compete in the back line of Madrid under the care of Zinedine Zidane. Militao will compete with Sergio Ramos, Nacho Fernandez and Raphael Varane to win regular playing positions.
