DBasia.news – Despite being eliminated from the FA Cup and League Cup, Liverpool are still fighting in the race for the Premier League title and the last 16 of the Champions League. Especially in the Premier League, Liverpool have been consistent so far.
Unfortunately, the tight schedule of the competition seems to be starting to make the players tired and vulnerable to injury. One player who has long been absent is Joe Gomez. As it is known, the British player was indeed smothered in a broken left leg injury while helping his team beat Burnley, December 6, 2018.
But for almost two months out, there are still no signs that Joe Gomez will be back to play again soon, he hasn’t even returned to train with his team-mates. Now the bad news for fans of the Reds, Jurgen Klopp gives a signal if the player has the potential to undergo a surgery to cure his injury.
“Will Joe Gomez have a surgery to cure the injury? I don’t know. We will see the progress. But, yes, that might be done,” Klopp told the Liverpool Echo.
“Of course that is not what he wants, but it still has to be done. Joe Gomez still needs time (to recover the injury). We will see how the team overcomes this,” he added.
Joe Gomez’s injury is clearly a big loss for Liverpool, because he is indeed one of the important figures in the defense line. It doesn’t stop there, the 2017/18 Champions League finalists are also experiencing a defender crisis.
For additional information, besides Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dejan Lovren also could not take part. Likewise with Virgil van Dijk who is also reportedly in an unwell condition. This matter then forced Klopp to place Jordan Henderson at the right-back position in the last game.
After reaching a 1-1 draw against Leicester City, Liverpool will undergo the away party against West Ham United in the 25th week of the Premier League on Tuesday (5/2) early Western Indonesian Time.
