Join Inter, Ashley Young Gives Farewell to Manchester United
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Ashley Young has officially left Manchester United and is now part of the Inter Milan squad. Shortly after the announcement of Young as an Inter player, the 34-year-old defender immediately wrote a farewell to Man United and Red Devils fans.
“To Manchester United: You have given me the opportunity to play with legends, win trophies, play under great managers throughout history, and become captains. Thank you for letting me be part of your story for 8.5 years,” Ashley Young said as quoted from his Twitter account.
During joining Manchester United, Ashley Young recorded five titles. Among them are the 2012-13 Premier League champions and the 2015-16 FA Cup and the 2016-17 Europa League. He also had time to feel the cold hands of Sir Alex Ferguson, Louis van Gaal, and Jose Mourinho.
In addition to the club, the 34-year-old also thanked the fans. He hopes to see them again someday.
“To United fans: Every time I step into the field wearing a costume (MU), I always give everything. Thank you for your support during the sweet and bitter period. I go as one of you. See you later,” Ashley Young said again.
Young together with Manchester United certainly ended in mid-January. Friday (1/17/2020), he was officially contracted by Inter Milan until the end of the 2019-20 season with the option to extend one season. The player is no longer a mainstay of the Red Devils despite the status of captain. His position at right-back is now taken over by Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who was bought from Crystal Palace in August.
Ashley Young became the third English player to defend Inter Milan. Two figures before him who joined the Nerazzurri were Gerry Hitchens and Paul Ince. Both have survived two seasons at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Hitchens from 1961 to 1963, while Ince from 1995 to 1997.
