DBasia.news – After a long silence, the Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho finally talks about his sacking last December, in which he got replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Just like The Special One, he talks bluntly.
“The structure must be made. The structure must be there to protect the manager and for the players to feel that everything is in place and they are not going to arrive into a situation where they feel more powerful than they used to be,” Mourinho said cited by Fox Sport Asia.
Mourinho’s statement seemed to be a shot for the French midfielder Paul Pogba. As we know, their relationship isn’t really good when Mourinho coached The Red Devils. There were many negative rumors.
For example, Pogba didn’t like Mourinho’s strategy and Mourinho decided to bench him. Next, Mourinho also caught by the camera clashed with Pogba during the training session and suspended his captain ban.
Furthermore, the psywar among them continued in front of the media. Pogba said Man United must play offensively in front of the fans while criticizing Mourinho’s approach.
Eventually, the club decided to sack Mourinho instead of selling Pogba who signed three years ago worth £89M from Juventus. Now, Pogba’s performance is the opposite under Solskjaer.
Not only criticizing the current squad and coach, but Mourinho also underlined the structure within Man United.
“In modern-day football, I don’t think it’s the problem between the coach and a player. I think it’s a problem between the coach without the structure behind him and the player,” he said.
“We are not anymore in the time where the coach by himself is powerful enough to cope and to have a relation of education and sometimes confrontation with players who are not the best professionals,” he concluded.
Mourinho is currently working as the football pandit of BeIN Sport while waiting for the new offer. Previously, he refused Benfica’s offer.
