Jose Mourinho Makes Former Chelsea Player Depressed for His Treatment

By db-admin – The former Chelsea player, Andre Schuerrle shared his bad experiences when being coached by Jose Mourinho. He admitted that he had experienced depression due to being treated cruelly by The Special One.

Schuerrle decided to hang up his boots at the age of 29 in July 2020. The 2014 World Cup gold medalist retired because he had lost interest in playing football.

The loss of Schuerrle’s interest in the world of the round skin is known to have begun when he played for Chelsea in 2013-2015. The former German national team star called his time at Stamford Bridge the “heaviest punishment” he has ever passed.

At that time, Andre Schuerrle played under Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese manager’s brutal treatment apparently made the Mainz 05 dropout depressed and depressed.

“He’s a brutal person. I always thought: What is he doing? Why is he treating me like this? Why is he doing this to people?” said Schuerrle as quoted from the Mirror.

“In retrospect, I realized what he wanted and what resources he was working on. At that time, I couldn’t really give him the things he wanted from me because of all the violence and psychological pressure he was putting,” Schuerrle added.

“In the past, it was very difficult. I used to drive home after talking to him and I thought that I couldn’t do it anymore. What can I do? He really puts such extreme pressure on.”

Not only that, Schuerrle admitted that his confidence had drastically dropped due to Jose Mourinho’s arbitrary actions against him. This made him feel that The Special One was always after him.

“Often I played from the start and he then replaced me in the first half. Then in the next match, I was not included in the squad and just watched from the stands,” Schuerrle revealed.

“I could not understand it and I lost my self-esteem, my ego was hurt. Then I started thinking about what might be on his mind, so that sometimes during training I felt that he was just after me,” Schuerrle closed his story.

Andre Schuerrle is rarely given the opportunity to appear in Chelsea uniform. He recorded only 65 appearances in all competitions in his two years with the Blues, before being sold to Wolfsburg in 2015.
