Jose Mourinho
DBasia.news – The public is still guessing The Special One’s next club. After the sacking of Manchester United last December, Mourinho has no club so far.
Indeed, the sacking by Man United and Chelsea in 2015 are the minor records for his coaching career. But, it doesn’t hinder the fact that he is one of Europe top managers.
The previous trophies when coaching Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and Man United would be remembered throughout the history. That’s why he still has the name despite the twice sacking.
Mourinho, 55, would start to coach next season as the rumor of joining Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Inter Milan. But, Mourinho could return sooner than expected.
Mirror reported that Mourinho has a big chance to return to his hometown, Portugal, and coaches the club there, Benfica.
The club with 36 Primeira League titles and 2 Champions League titles could be his new destination. Benfica just sacked Rui Vitoria after 3,5 years journey.
Vitoria was sacked due to the declining performance of Jardel and friends against Porto. The 0-2 failure against Portimonense lately was the climax of the sacking.
The sacking could be the door for Mourinho to coach Benfica. Besides returning to the hometown and familiar to Portugal football, Mourinho was the former Benfica coach in 2000.
The problem for Benfica is how to fulfill the salary of the manager who was born on Setubal, January 26th, 1963, reaches 15 million euro annual salary. Mourinho isn’t really into becoming the interim coach.
Benfica must appoint the new coach soon because they are facing the tight schedule. Not only the Primeira League but Benfica also still play in Europa League against Galatasaray in February.
