By db-admin
DBasia.news – Former Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has turned down an offer from Benfica to replace Rui Vitoria. This was confirmed by Luis Filipe Vieira, President of Benfica.
He said the coach did not want to return to Portugal and did not even bother to negotiate that role.
In the end, the team B coach, Bruno Lage took over.
“At that time I told Bruno Lage that he would not be a coach if Mourinho was accepted,” the president said, quoted by Sport-English. “We did not negotiate, I know my conversation with him. Lage said that if we hired him, he would go alone to pick him up from the airport,”
