Jose Mourinho Stained Mauricio Pochettino’s Heritage at Tottenham Hotspur

DBasia.news –  Jose Mourinho does not want his Tottenham team to be rooted by Mauricio Pochettino’s heritage. According to him, games with certain philosophies will be effective if used at the right time. A pragmatic game that is more desired by Mourinho because it is judged to be arousing a champion mentality.

It is no longer a secret that The Special One always presents trophies in every club he has trained, even though his approach tends to be disliked by some people because it is too pragmatic and does everything to achieve positive results.

No matter his team played with a low block (low block) or total defense and launched a counterattack (negative football), Mourinho will do it if he considers it as the right approach to achieve the desired results.

Now the 56-year-old manager does it at Tottenham. Just three months training the Lilywhites since last November, Mourinho immediately asked his foster children to slowly forget the playing identity that was instilled by Pochettino for five years (2014-2019).

Under the tutelage of Pochettino, Tottenham played offensive and entertaining and fast attack from the wing. The playing energy displayed by Harry Kane et al in his era is one of the other positive values.

“It’s helpful to (always) have the mentality to win the next match. “It doesn’t matter what competition, how many injuries we have or what you try,” Jose Mourinho told the Evening Standard.

“To have an imagination, to be creative, to try to build something that can make you believe you can win a match, just as we believe we can beat Liverpool, that’s how you create a winning mentality.”

“You go for every game and you try (win), even if you have to be more strategic than philosophical. Philosophy is when you follow a certain philosophy and everything is in its place to follow it.”

“But one other thing is when you are in trouble and you have to be pragmatic, creative, and try to build something. That’s what we did when against Liverpool,” he explained.

Winning the trophy has indeed been one thing that has not been achieved by Tottenham in the Pochettino era and Mourinho tried to make it happen. Although Tottenham’s philosophy of playing is different today, Pochettino’s other legacy from a young squad of many talents and local players remains.
