DBasia.news – Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho got sanctioned due to his tax evasion case when he handled Real Madrid. Consequently, Mourinho is threatened for a one-year jail sentence.
The case happened when Jose Mourinho was the coach of Real Madrid. To be exact, the tax evasion happened in 2011 and 2012.
Jose Mourinho has reportedly concealed earnings on image rights during that period. In total, the Portuguese coach has to pay 3,3 million euro (Rp57,3 billion).
Essentially, concealing earnings on image rights always happened in LaLiga. Some players like Lionel Messi, Fabio Coentrao, and Cristiano Ronaldo had the similar case.
However, not everyone involved would be jailed. Some could avoid the sentence.
For example, a person who gets his first tax evasion case and sentenced under a two-year sentence doesn’t require to stay behind the bar.
El Mundo reported Jose Mourinho belongs to that category. However, the possibility of Mourinho stays in jail does exist.
Currently, Jose Mourinho accepted the suspended jail term. The 55-year-old coach will get a one-year sentence.
El Mundo reported Jose Mourinho has accepted the sentence. Now, his case has been closed.
Jose Mourinho handled Real Madrid in 2010 to 2013. After that, Mourinho returned to England to be Chelsea manager and moved to Manchester United.
