DBasia.news – AS Roma lost 1-2 to AC Milan this morning. The result has stopped coach Jose Mourinho’s home record in the Italian League in the hands of the Rossoneri.
Roma hosted Milan at the Stadio Olimpico, Monday (1/11/2021) in the 11th match of Serie A. The hosts have struggled since the first half.
Roma’s goal was first shook in the 26th minute. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a low free-kick, which directed the ball into the bottom right corner of the opponent’s goal.
In the second half, Roma conceded again in the 57th minute. A penalty was given to the Giallorossi, after Roger Ibanez violated Ibrahimovic. Franck Kessie successfully struck the ball from the spot.
Milan, who played with 10 players since the 66th minute after Theo Hernandez swallowed two yellow cards, only managing to break into Roma in injury time. Stephan El Shaarawy reduced the score to 1-2, which lasted until the game ended.
The result was not only to continue the performance of AS Roma under Jose Mourinho. The manager apparently also failed to maintain a slick record in the Italian League.
The defeat to Milan was Mourinho’s first defeat in Serie A. Of the 43 home games he has played in Serie A, this is the first time he has failed to score points. Mourinho’s record itself is quite special, because it has become the most in the competition since the 1994/1995 season, as reported by Opta.
Prior to coaching Roma, Mourinho had coached Inter Milan in the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 seasons. A total of 38 home games he led, in which Inter were unbeaten at the Giuseppe Meazza. In detail, Inter won 29 wins and 9 draws.
While in Rome, Mourinho has led 6 home matches in Serie A. As a result, four wins were won, and two matches each ended in a draw and a loss.
The defeat has made AS Roma stuck in fourth place in the Italian League standings with 19 points. While AC Milan itself is still in second place, close to Napoli, who is in first position with the same points.
