DBasia.news – Jose Mourinho keeps on talking the positive side of the Arsenal goalkeeper, Petr Cech. Moreover, the legendary goalkeeper of Premier League decided to retire this season.
The former Manchester United tactician has the merit of Cech career, especially in the Premier League. However, he doesn’t think that he is that important for Cech’s career.
In fact, Mourinho was the one who chose Cech to be the main goalkeeper of Chelsea in 2005. Even though it was his debut, Mourinho took the right decision because Cech player performed well for The Blues.
Before sold to Arsenal in 2015, Cech presented 17 trophies for Chelsea. The most prestigious achievement is winning the Champions League in 2011-2012. Apparently, it was the first Champions League trophy for Chelsea of all time.
“When I came to Chelsea he was a kid, 20 years old. The goalkeeper was Carlo Cudicini and the season before he was the player of the season.
The first game of the season was Chelsea vs Manchester United,” Mourinho said.
And I decided to leave out the player of the season before and to play a kid that no-one knew how to even pronounce his name. Petr Cech was quite difficult to say. I gave the start to that young boy. After that everything was about him. My influence was zero,” Mourinho said as cited by Anorak, Saturday (19/1).
