Juanfran Joins Sao Paulo
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Former Atletico Madrid fullback, Juanfran, has officialy joined the club from Brazil, Sao Paulo.
Juanfran has the status of a free transfer after refusing a contract extension at Atletico. Together with Sao Paulo, the Spanish player was contracted until December 2020.
Juanfran’s step was somewhat surprising. Understandably, the Brazilian League is not a popular destination for veteran players, especially non-Brazilians.
“There are several situations that come and surprise you,” Juanfran said.
“I don’t mind playing in the Copa Libertadores,” he added.
Juanfran was reportedly going to continue his career in Major League Soccer with Chicago Fire. However, he was actually more interested in trying out the Samba State competition.
