DBasia.news – The fight over Premier League title has not only happened between two racehorse, Liverpool and Manchester City, as according to Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, Tottenham Hotspur is also in on it.
Liverpool only played 1-1 while against West Ham United in the 25th week Premier League 2018-2019, at London Stadium, Monday (4/2) local time. Even Sadio Mane’s goal for Liverpool was considered invalid as James Milner was offside.
The draw Liverpool achieved made the title rivalry heat up. Now The Reds are only three points from Manchester City. Besides that, Tottenham Hotspur has started to catch up with only five points.
“If you want to be at the top standings at the end of the season, you need to conquer situations such as this,” explains Jurgen Klopp as reported by Guardian
“In the last five, six, or seven weeks we have discussed two teams that have a chance in winning the title. But now Tottenham Hotspur is behind. For me, they are 100 percent in the champion lane,” says Klopp
Jurgen Klopp states one of the reason Liverpool is slowing down is the injury factor. Players like Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren have problems. As for James Milner and Virgil Van Dijk has viruses.
“This is a long season. We have lost one game all season. This is a challenging moment where Milly is sick and Van Dijk is also stepping off for three or four days. Can we play better? Absolutely 100 percent, but this match is difficult,” explains Klopp.
“I’m not complaining about it. It is a fact and not an excuse. The game preparation is far from perfect, but we still have one point,” says Klopp.
