DBasia.news – The Reds got a 1-2 defeat from Manchester City at Etihad Stadium, Friday (4/1). The failure on the 21st-week ended the unbeaten record.

The former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger would be relieved now because of the Invincibles team Arsenal’s unbeaten record persists. Liverpool also equalized the score from Roberto Firminho goal after Sergio Aguero.

At 72′, Leroy Sane scored the decisive goal, ending Liverpool’s record and became the 10th conceded this season in the Premier League.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits that the team regret the failure. However, the Germany manager insisted that it won’t give any affect.

“You (some of the media) wanted to tell us the season is over if we lose tonight. But football is like this,” Klopp told Liverpool Echo.

“If we’d have won tonight we’d have been 10 points clear, but we’re not. For us it’s really important that we take it game by game because there’s no other chance.”

“If we had won the title five times in the last 10 years then we’d say 100%, but we don’t have the experience. Why should we behave like somebody who has won it all the time?” Klopp explained.

Liverpool will play the 22nd-week Premier League match next weekend against Brighton & Hove Albion, Saturday (12/1). Before that match, Liverpool will visit Wolverhampton Wanderers home in the FA Cup, Tuesday (8/1).

“We are still in a pretty good position. It is fine for us. Not at the moment. It feels really bad, but it’s only a moment,” Klopp added.

“Then tomorrow morning when we wake up it still feels average and then we have the opportunity to work on it and prepare for the next game and that’s what we will 100% do,” he concluded.

Liverpool are four points higher than the runner-up, Man City. They also have three points gap against Tottenham Hotspur.
