Lazar Markovic

DBasia.news –  The patience of Liverpool and Lazar Markovic is over. The player, ended his five-year status as a Liverpool player, and left on a free transfer to Fulham in the deadline of the 2019 winter transfer market.

It was not easy for Markovic to overcome the situation. The 24-year-old with a Serbian passport has been loaned four times by the Reds to Fenerbahce (2015/16), Sporting Lisbon (2016/17), Hull City (2017), and Anderlecht (2018).

Liverpool issued a dowry of 20 million pounds when recruiting Markovic from Benfica in 2014. Markovic was then called one of the young players with good talent and a bright future.

Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, admitted that he was pleased with Markovic’s departure to Fulham. Indirectly, he was relieved that Markovic was young and could develop his career with other clubs.

“For him (Markovic), this (moving to Fulham) is brilliant. I can imagine the situation is very difficult for him. It’s not easy for me (though) it doesn’t really matter – having players in the squad that is deep and doesn’t play,” Klopp said in Liverpool’s official website.

“But it’s clear, Lazar knows for a long time how our plans are, and for different reasons transfers don’t work properly. We are not responsible for that.”

“Now, he can go to Fulham and use his potential again, of course I’m happy. He’s a good boy and a really good footballer – hopefully his move is good for him,” concluded Klopp.

Apart from Markovic, Liverpool also loaned Nathaniel Clyne to Bournemouth and sold Dominic Solanke to the same club as Clyne.
