DBasia.news – 29 years is a very long time for a club in waiting for a prestigious title. Moreover, if the club is like Liverpool, the historical and traditional club of England. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp understands the fans’ misery and insisted that the team would try hard in ending the wait this season.
Even though still considered as one of England big teams, in fact, Liverpool haven’t achieved any Premier League title in 29 years. In fact, The Reds have tried everything like signing great players and top coach.
Now, the hope does exist. Liverpool still lead the table with 90 points. The Reds could add the gap 7 points higher than Manchester City if they win the match against Leicester City, Thursday (31/1).
Ahead of the match, Klopp realized the strong support comes from the fans to achieve the title this season. Moreover, The Reds have a balanced squad.
“I don’t meet a lot of people, that’s the truth. I am here or at home or at Anfield,” he said cited by BBC.
“I would be excited if I was a supporter of Liverpool, but of course we have to deliver results to keep them all excited,” Klopp said.
“It’s really not about me. It’s really about the supporters, first and foremost. Because they dream so long, I cannot say that I have dreamed 29 years for another title for Liverpool, to be honest.”
“But a lot of people dream of that and that’s what we try to deliver,” Klopp insisted.
Jurgen Klopp started to handle Liverpool in October 2015. Currently, the former Borussia Dortmund coach is still in contract until June 2022.
