DBasia.news – The seven goals drama happened at Anfield, Liverpool home, against Crystal Palace on the 23rd-week of Premier League, Saturday (19/1). The Reds almost ended the match draw or even worse: beaten.
Palace under Roy Hodgson played insistent despite the away match to Anfield. Three goals of Palace came from Andros Townsend, James Tomkins, and Max Meyer. On the other hand, four goals of Liverpool created by two goals of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp did the wild celebration after the match, just like how he always does. This time, the Germany man admits he’s relieved that his team could win. Moreover, Liverpool only played with 10 players after James Milner quit at 89′.
“It’s a massive relief. We knew for different reasons the game would be difficult. Crystal Palace traditionally do well against Liverpool and with the physicality, it was clear it would be like the first half was,” Klopp told Goal.
“They are really good at counter-attacks and set-pieces, Wilfried Zaha is a world-class player and he gets into a one-on-one situation and we’re one down. We had to stay positive, being one down is not a massive blow, we just needed to win the second half and did what we had to do.”
“The result is massive, we have 60 points now it’s crazy, it’s an important number. I’m really proud, a few things happened that we don’t really need, we’re a bit short now on players but we have a few days and need to use the time now for recovery,” Klopp insisted.
Liverpool, with 60 points, are leading the Premier League temporary table and 7 points behind Manchester City who played against Huddersfield Town.
