DBasia.news –  Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has yet to give up to fight for the Ajax Amsterdam defender, Matthijs de Ligt. However, Juventus had an advantage in an effort to recruit De Ligt.

Matthijs de Ligt appeared fiercely in the 2018-2019 season. The Dutch national team player brought Ajax through the Champions League semifinals.

The performance sparked interest in Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain. Both clubs continue to try to bring in the player to date.

At first, PSG was reported to be one step ahead of Juventus. Les Parisiens agreed to Ajax Amsterdam’s request of 75 million euros.

However, PSG never managed to convince Matthijs de Ligt. The player hesitated to continue his career in Paris.

The opportunity was not wasted by Juventus. La Vecchia Signora immediately tried to approach De Ligt first before negotiating with Ajax.

De Ligt reportedly agreed to offer a five-year contract. Later, the player will get a salary of 12 million euros per season.

One of the differences between PSG’s offer and Juventus is the matter of affixing the release clause. La Vecchia Signora was willing to enter the release clause worth of 150 million euros on Matthijs de Ligt’s contract, while PSG rejected the idea. The release clause can only be activated during the transfer market.

Furthermore, Juventus will try to suppress Matthijs de Ligt’s worth. The Bianconeri are trying to reach an agreement of 60 million euros.

The joining of Matthijs de Ligt to Juventus has been approved by Cristiano Ronaldo. In fact, the former Real Madrid player did not hesitate to ask De Ligt directly to join.

“When we played as friends, I always wanted to be Cristiano Ronaldo. It happened especially when he headed for Manchester United. Even so, my first jersey was his,” De Ligt said.

Juventus needs to immediately seal Matthijs de Ligt. Ajax is predicted to be willing to release the captain as long as the incoming bid reaches 70 million euros.
