Liverpool vs Southampton

DBasia.news –  Liverpool won a 3-1 victory over Southampton in the Week 33 Premier League at St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday (6/4) early morning Western Indonesian Time. Got behind from Shane Long’s goal, Liverpool turned ahead via goals from Naby Keita, Mohamed Salah, and Jordan Henderson.

After falling behind Shane Long’s goal in the ninth minute and equalizing through Naby Keita nine minutes before the end of the first half, the visitors had a hard time mastering the match until Jurgen Klopp decided to replace Georginio Wijnaldum and Trent Alexander-Arnold with Jordan Henderson and James Milner.

The Reds legend, Jamie Carragher, praised the move taken by the German manager who proved effective to make the team win after Henderson provided an assist to Mohamed Salah in the 80th minute and scored a goal which ensured his team’s victory six minutes later.

“I think the impact of the substitution made by Jurgen Klopp is very big. The incoming Jordan Henderson provides extraordinary energy. “The bait made by Liverpool previously seemed too slow and Henderson’s arrival increased the tempo of the game,” Jamie Carragher said in a statement quoted from Sky Sports.

Carragher also felt that James Milner’s entry to Trent Alexander-Arnold made Liverpool able to survive better on the right side of the back line after the young Englishman had experienced difficulties before being replaced.
