Koulibaly will be Released Next Season
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, stated that he would sell his flagship defender, Kalidou Koulibaly in the transfer window next season.
“Yesterday I would not sell Koulibaly despite an offer of up to 105 billion euros (Rp1.7 billion). But one day we will sell him,” De Laurentiis said as quoted by the Tuttosport website on Thursday.
In the transfer window last summer, Manchester United and Chelsea were interested in signing the 28-year-old player from San Paolo.
However, De Laurentiis flatly refused the offer, as they still need the services of the Senegalese national team players to win the Scudetto and fight in the Champions League.
In the upcoming summer transfer, Napoli’s management needed fresh funds to finance Carlo Ancelotti’s project in Naples. Therefore, they had to sell a few expensive players and Koulibaly was one of them.
“When they bid 95 million pounds for a center back, which is an amount that has never been bargained before, it means he is a top player,” he stated.
Koulibaly is reportedly still being hunted by Manchester United and Barcelona. But the Blaugrana has a great chance of bringing him to Camp Nou. Reportedly, Napoli is also eyeing Samuel Umtiti to fill the post left by Koulibaly.
