Left side, Sevilla’s new strength
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Coach Julen Lopetegui is famous for carrying the strategy of dominating the game. Therefore it is natural that Sevilla FC, now fostered, could be so powerful over RCD Espanyol in the first Jornada, despite playing away. But there is something different about the team’s concoction this time. The left side of the contrast looks to be a new force.
In the dominance of Los Nervionenses – the nickname of Sevilla -, the spotlight continues to point to the lefty. Most of the dangers created at the RCDE Stadium are on that side. The left side also continues to launch attacks regularly. The main actors behind it are none other than Sergio Reguilon and Miguel “Nolito” Duran.
Both of them are indeed the new power that Sevilla has. The 22-year-old wing-back was loaned from Real Madrid in the transfer market this summer, and the 32-year-old striker is a player who previously did not contribute much due to injury. Nolito was even at the exit of the club (only a matter of the next destination).
Real evidence from the left side that became the strength of Lopetegui’s team is all (two) goals created versus Espanyol starting from the left. Also created by Reguilon and Nolito (assists from the first name). The unquestionability of Jesus Navas in the right sector cannot even defeat the “light” on the left.
Now more complete club attacks left and right (last season dominant right with Navas). In addition to the Reguilon-Nolito factor, Oliver Torres as the support of the midfield also cannot be sidelined. Even Fernando Reges is solid in maintaining depth. And of course the transfer policy from sports director Monchi Rodriguez.
The revolution Lopetegui brought to Los Nervionenses itself was indeed the most visible compared to 19 other La Liga teams. They became the team with the most number of new players in their starting 11, which reached seven players; Reguilon, Torres, Joan Jordan, Fernando, Diego Carlos, Luuk de Jong, and Lucas Ocampos.
Sevilla has indeed become a very active club in the transfer market. But that’s not the main cause there are only four old players as starters; Thomas Vaclik, Nolito, Daniel Carrico, and Navas. The reason Real Madrid is also recruiting on a large scale, but the fact is there is absolutely no revolution in its starting 11.
