Liverpool Unsure in Bringing a New Left Back in This Summer

DBasia.news –  Liverpool needed a left back to cover for Andrew Robertson. Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, did not close the chances of his team recruiting new players in that position.

The Reds’ transfer movement has been on the low this summer. Liverpool have just recruited Dutch center back, Sepp van den Berg, from PEC Zwolle. The Liverpool’s transfer is understandably quiet as they already have a good squad.

Even if they recruitd players, the players will be plotted as coatings. One position that currently needs a coating is in the left sector of Liverpool’s defense.

Along with the departure of Alberto Moreno, who later joined Villarreal, Liverpool now only have one reliable left back: Andrew Robertson. If Robertson is injured or sanctioned by accumulated cards, Liverpool would have no coatings.

James Milner can be forced to play in that position, as are defenders who can be picked up from the club academy. Nevertheless, Klopp does not rule out the possibility of new players in that position.

“We’ll see later. If it’s not a yes, it’s a no. I have said before we have to think of everything and in the end, maybe we did nothing,” Klopp said, as reported by Sky Sports.

“I can imagine we saw everything around us. Of course, we lost left back (Alberto Moreno), but today (against Bradford), we saw two young players, and James (Milner) also played there. We will see later.”

According to Thisisanfield, Liverpool can rely on Adam Lewis, Liverpool U-23 left-back, as Robertson’s coating or recruit other names such as: Jamas Lewis, Ruben Vinagre, Noussair Mazraoui, Ryan Sessegnon, Santiago Arzamendia, and Aleksandar Kolarov.
