DBasia.news – The 2018/19 season has been the best season for Liverpool. Not only competing in the Premier League, they also set one foot in the Champions League semi-final after beating FC Porto in the quarter-final leg at Anfield.
Although already having a number of quality players in the squad, this does not necessarily change the transfer strategy of the club based at Anfield. After the 2018 summer transfer market then spent funds estimated at 150 million pounds, this time the Reds have also devised a plan to increase the strength of the team ahead of the upcoming 2019/20 season.
One of the players on the shopping list is Thorgan Hazard, who is currently strengthening Borussia Moenchengladbach. Now the opportunity for the 2017/18 season’s Champions League finalists to get the player seems quite open, as Gladbach’s sporting director, Max Eberl, has confirmed Thorgan’s desire to leave.
“Thorgan Hazard has told the club that he is reluctant to extend the contract with Gladbach and wants to leave in the summer to try new challenges in his career,” explained Eberl as reported by the Mirror.
“I have heard this kind of statement 15 times in the past 10 years. Some great players have chosen to leave Gladbach. We will see what steps Thorgan will choose next,” added the German man.
Thorgan Hazard’s performance this season was quite good, although Gladbach had difficulty maintaining consistency and is now dropped to fifth place in the standings, he was still able to collect a total of 12 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
Unfortunately, Liverpool is not the only club that is eyeing the younger brother of Chelsea star, Eden Hazard. The Reds still have to compete with two other top clubs Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid.
