Luis Figo

DBasia.news – Real Madrid former playmaker Luis Figo concerned about Los Blancos. The Portuguese football legend admits Madrid are weaker after losing Cristiano Ronaldo.

Since joining Madrid from Manchester United in summer 2009, Ronaldo was the goal machine of Santiago Bernabeu. In total, the 33-year-old striker scored 450 goals in 438 matches, made him as Madrid top-scorer of all time. But he moved to Juventus.

Since his exit, Madrid aren’t only difficult in achieving victory but also experiencing goal crisis. The situation made Figo raised his comment.

Eden Hazard

“These sales lead to a period of transition. He is one of the most important players in football not only contemporarily but in the sport’s history because he guarantees a lot of goals at decisive moments,” Figo said.

“Over the last number of years Madrid have won a lot of titles but this is not always the case in football and you cannot possibly win all the time.”

Figo also talked about the right person to replace Ronaldo. He mentioned Chelsea striker, Eden Hazard, as the right player to join Bernabeu, as the Belgium player has uttered his intention to join for the sake of Ballon d’Or title.

“Should Eden Hazard replace him? He is a great player for sure and definitely one of the best in football right now, and importantly he wants to play for Real Madrid,” Figo said.

“He is not currently on a long-term deal so why not?”
