Lucas Hernandez prefers Bayern Munich to Real Madrid
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez revealed that Real Madrid had tried to hijack him when he was playing for Atletico Madrid.
Hernandez had indeed been linked with Los Blancos, but in the end, the player moved to Bayern Munich worth 80 million euros.
Hernandez, who missed the end of the 2018/19 season with a knee injury, stressed he was not at all interested in moving to the Santiago Bernabeu.
“Real has approached me, that’s true, but not this summer. And I will not go there. Not after wearing an Atletico jersey for a long time,” Hernandez told France Football.
The Frenchman also revealed the reason he chose jersey number 21 at the Allianz Arena.
“When we discussed, they asked what number I wanted. I told them that I would have 21. I won the World Cup with number 21. At Atletico, when I took No.21, we won the European Super Cup. I told them that this was the number I wanted and, if they could give it to me, that would be good.”
“They told me it was Philipp Lahm’s number and no one had used it since he retired, but they told me that they would give it to me if I joined. That’s just one example of the trust they place on me,” Hernandez added.
