Man United Performance Under Mourinho Probably Boring

By news-admin

DBasia.news – The luck for Jose Mourinho in the second season seems gone. The fact can be seen by last season performance when Manchester United ended the 2017/2018 season with no trophy, only became the runner-up of Premier League and FA Cup final round.

The critics were aimed at Mourinho. This record proved that Mourinho conservative strategy, who emphasized the result instead of impressive and entertaining performance, is no longer efficient.

Ironically, the same city rival, Manchester City, who won two titles of Premier League and League Cup, defeated Man United. Moreover, The Citizens got it not by 1-0 score or boring performance, but the offensive and entertaining one.

Comparing Mourinho and Guardiola is like seeing two different poles. The Special One who succeeded to get trophies with pragmatic soccer philosophy last season was lost to Guardiola’s strategy.

This season, The Red Devils supporters obviously don’t want to let their neighbor have a party. They expect Man United to get up and win the Premier League title ended in 2013.

But, this hope might be a consideration seeing how Man United performed in the two matches. Besides two matches in draw result, 1-1 with Club America and 0-0 versus San Jose Earthquakes, two Man United new players (Diogo Dalot and Fred) haven’t impressed.

Moreover, some Man United key players last season are still on holiday after playing in the 2018 World Cup, hence late joining the squad. Seeing the boring performance of Man United, the legend of the club, Paul Scholes, sure that Guardiola will be upset with him.

“As a football person, if you’re a coach and you see your team playing – he may be happy (with the style of play). It’s a team who grind out results rather than really impresses you – and that’s probably what he is happy with, that’s where he has been at his best over the years,” Scholes told BeIN Sports.

“If Guardiola was the manager of Manchester United he would hate what he was seeing – and it would be different. But, the most important thing to him is results, he will be judged on that,” he explained.

The third season for Mourinho with Man United might be the last test for him to give the prestigious titles, after winning the Europa League and League Cup in the first season.
