Manchester United Asked Not to Forget Themselves Even Though They Defeated Paris Saint Germain

DBasia.news – Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel reminded the Red Devils not to be complacent after beating PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) in the Champions League. According to him, Man United are still in the development phase of the squad and will still have difficulties in the future.

Man United won this midweek victory at PSG headquarters with a score of 2-1 in the first match of the Champions League group. Two goals from United directed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were scored by Bruno Fernandes (penalty) and Marcus Rashford.

It was United’s second consecutive win in all competitions after beating Newcastle United in the Premier League. But PSG is just starting because until early November United were faced with difficult matches.

After fighting PSG, Harry Maguire et al will still play against Chelsea, RB Leipzig, Arsenal, Istanbul Basaksehir and Everton. No doubt Schmeichel reminded Man United not to be complacent because of the result against PSG.

“This (against PSG) is an extraordinary victory and I think it is something we really need,” said Schmeichel quoted from Goal.

“I think we are still in this transition period and will still see some results that we don’t like and some of them will be surprising. This is one of them that fascinates us.”

“You hope this win will give confidence to the players. I don’t think these lads will get carried away.”

“It’s a very, very young squad of players with a very experienced manager who will tell them it’s good, but it’s something we have to emulate in four days against Chelsea and when we play Leipzig in the space of a week.”

“We can’t play one great match and think our level is good. We are still in the process and I think there is still a way to go before we compete on all fronts, but it was a fantastic performance and a big step in the right direction.” explained Schmeichel.
