Manchester United Defeats the Derby County, Ighalo Contributed two goals

DBasia.news –  Manchester United managed to advance in the 2019-20 FA Cup after winning the top 16 phase match against Derby County at iPro Stadium, Friday (06/03) AM local time, the Red Devils won a landslide victory with a score of 3-0.

Wayne Rooney, Man United legend who played in mid-2004-2017, became the highlight of this match and was played as a starter by Phillip Cocu in a 4-2-3-1 tactic. A similar tactic is also used by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Man United.

Eight minutes later Odion Ighalo scored United’s second goal. The Nigerian striker controlled the ball well from two or three Derby players, directing the ball to the right side of the Derby goal without being able to be prevented. The 2-0 score ended the fight in the first round.

In the second half the tempo of the game slowed down, United tended to play by relying on counterattacks. Derby County created chances but relatively did not endanger Sergio Romero’s goal.

United then played efficiently from the counter attack and produced a third goal in minute 70. Ighalo scored his second goal in this match by utilizing the rebound ball and a hard shot to the Derby goal. 3-0.

Ighalo scored his second goal in a row when he was appointed to start for the second time. According to Opta, it is also the first time he has scored two goals against the English team since last doing so in 2015 against Liverpool.

The match ended 3-0 and United will play Norwich City in the last eight of the FA Cup. The win also means that United have never lost in nine consecutive matches in all competitions (six wins and three draws).
