Manchester United had no on point Goals towards the Wolves

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Minor results returned to Manchester United when playing against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup third round.

Not only playing inconsistently, the goalless draw is also a minor record from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad. Balanced ball possession: Wolves 49 and Man United 51 percent. Both of them also recorded 12 kick attempts.

The difference is Wolves had two kicks on target whereas Man United had zero. Man United’s game was boring until Rio Ferdinand, United’s legend, was frustrated by the inconsistency of his former club.

“This (Man United) is still in the process. The problem is they need consistency. That inconsistency, I cannot understand,” said Ferdinand, as quoted from Dailymail.

“Recently they defeated Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City. You must think they are on the right path now. But they showed a different game in the match against Arsenal, I’m also disappointed to see the match against Wolves,” he added.

Minor records without a single shot on target that led to data from Opta. For the first time after five years United did not record one shot on target, whether in the league or tournament, after they last recorded it against Southampton.

Not only that, United’s failure to defeat Wolves also raised the fact that they were a scourge for Manchester Red. Meeting for five times, United lost twice and drew three times against Wolves directed by Nuno Espirito Santo.

Wolves have often been a scourge for big Premier League teams since promotion to the Premier League two years ago. Even so for United. Besides these facts, here are other interesting notes:

– Manchester United have failed to score for the first time in 14 meetings against Wolves in all competitions, since they last lost 0-1 in the 2004 Premier League.

– For the first time Man United played a repeat match in the FA Cup third round after last doing so in the 2012-13 season against West Ham United.

– Roman Saiss, Wolves player, received his 11th card in all competitions this season (10 yellow cards, one red card), more than any other player in the Premier League this season.
