Manchester United Manager Hopes His New Player would be Permanent
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, praised Odion Ighalo’s brilliant performance on the front lines of the Red Devils. Solskjaer said he wanted the former Watford player to be permanent at Man United next season.
Odion Ighalo came from Shanghai Shenhua in the 2019/20 winter transfer window on loan. Reportedly, the Red Devils did not have a clause to make the striker permanent.
The 30-year-old striker showed performance as expected by Manchester United. So far, he has packed four goals plus one assist in eight matches in various events.
“Odion Ighalo played very well and will develop better. We see the quality and need him next season,” Solskjaer said as reported by the Evening Standard.
“He is a goal scorer and a cutting edge. He doesn’t really care about all the nonsense, that is definitely a joke, of course,” Solskjaer stated.
“He understands his duties and roles in the team. He is great when he turns his back to the goal. He is a great liaison player, but perhaps his best is his attitude.”
Odion Ighalo also scored when Manchester United beat LASK 5-0. Ighalo’s hard kick tore the host’s goal.
“He made three previous touches, and the fourth had to be a solution. All touches were high quality, but he had to do it to gain goals,” said the manager.
“A neat half volley shot with the right timing. Everyone would feel proud of the final settlement like that,” explained Solskjaer.
Manchester United brought in Odion Ighalo after Marcus Rashford suffered a long injury. In addition, Man United did lose their power after Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez left in the summer of 2019.
