DBasia.news – The FIFA virus is identical with the injury of players when strengthening the national team this time has attacked many Manchester United players. At least five Man United players were injured at this time.
The five players, summarized by Bolaskor.com from different sources, were: Luke Shaw, Nemanja Matic, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and most recently, Romelu Lukaku. Their injury conditions also vary.
Shaw’s foot injury and canceling to strengthen the England national team to play two European Cup 2020 Qualifying matches against the Czech Republic and Montenegro. Shaw’s injury was followed by his compatriot, Marcus Rashford, who had an ankle injury.
If Shaw was dropped before joining his England team-mate, Rashford had even trained first, before Gareth Southgate, the Three Lions coach, returned him to the club due to injury.
“He has been with our medical team all week long. We have tried to develop his training all week, so he ran,” Southgate said regarding Rashford’s injury.
“But it is clear to us that he will not be ready to compete, so we will send him home to the club. He is absent in two matches,” he continued.
The most unfortunate fate was received by Martial with the French national team. At a time when Didier Deschamps called him back after being dropped in the 2018 World Cup squad, Martial had even injured his right knee.
“The problem in Anthony Martial’s right knee recurred. He felt pain in his right knee again after Saturday’s match against Wolverhampton,” read a statement from the French Football Federation (FFF).
Deschamps called on Atletico Madrid winger Thomas Lemar instead of Martial. A similar fate was experienced by Matic who failed to strengthen the Serbian national team coached by Mladen Krstajic. The coach confirmed the injury to the deputy captain of the Serbian national team.
“Nemanja Matic will not play in Wolfsburg, also in Lisbon. He played the last match at the club but did not survive in the field until the end of the match,” Krstajic said on Sky Sports.
Most recently, it was Lukaku’s turn to be injured when he played for the Belgian national team. Had trained with Roberto Martinez’s team, the 25-year-old striker was injured and was sent home by Belgium to Manchester.
“Romelu Lukaku will not travel with the Belgian national team this morning (Saturday) to Cyprus due to a foot injury,” the official Belgian Twitter Federation said. Lukaku became the newest player to fill the player’s locker room.
In addition to these five players, the Red Devils treatment room was crowded with Antonio Valencia, Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Darmian, and Jesse Lingard. There are indications that the players were injured because of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s coaching method.
“Yes, that might be related (a hurricane of injuries to players due to Solskjaer’s coaching method). When you make changes, do you wait until the preseason and think our results will change by not asking players to keep running?” Solskjaer said some time ago.
“Or do you choose to start now and demand that they (players) increase the intensity and show how we really want to play?”
“Of course you have seen the choices I made. I chose us to play as how Manchester United should play. And if you want to be part of Manchester United, the strong will survive, don’t you think?” explained the Norwegian manager.
Fans certainly hope the player’s injury storm can be overcome when the international break ends. Recovering or not they can influence United’s struggle that is still fighting in the Premier League and Champions League.
