By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United is quite active in streamlining the squad in the 2019 summer transfer window. The Red Devils’ exodus involves Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Darmian, Chris Smalling, Ander Herrera, and Antonio Valencia.
On the other hand, the Red Devils certainly do not forget the players who had already been in the squad, even they are also busy extending their contracts, now the player who is claimed to soon add to his tenure is Mason Greenwood.
According to Mirror’s report, United have already begun initial negotiations over a new contract with the player and will raise Greenwood to £ 25,000 a week.
This step was allegedly taken by the club because they were smitten with a slick appearance that was shown by the 17-year-old player in the preseason. As is known, Greenwood scored goals against Leeds United and then helped his team beat Inter Milan.
Not only that, but club officials also believe that Greenwood has the potential to become an important player along with and will get many opportunities to play this season, especially after Lukaku’s departure to Giuseppe Meazza.
For additional information, this season Greenwood has never been a starter, but he has always been involved in the first four Premier League matches and entered as a substitute. In addition to Greenwood, Manchester United is also rumored to be going to increase the service period of several other young players such as Tahith Chong, James Garner, and Brandon Williams.
