Manchester United Prepares a plan if David De Gea Leaves

DBasia.news –  According to the news that has widely circulated recently, David De Gea allegedly refused an offer to renew a new Manchester United contract.

The Spanish goalkeeper’s contract expires in 2020 after the club activated a season-long clause. Not wanting to lose his best player, Man United offered a new contract to De Gea, and as quoted from The Sun, he refused.

De Gea’s refusal is believed to be because United are declining in the last two seasons – failing to win the trophy – and also because of interest from PSG (Paris Saint-Germain). PSG is willing to make a tug-of-war strategy with United.

Thomas Tuchel’s club don’t mind if they make a purchase this summer for 60 million pounds or also, recruit him next season when his contract ends with United aka free recruits.

De Gea, 28, has been guarding United’s goal since 2011. Appearing for more than 275 games, 39 caps with the Spanish national team, have won a Premier League title, FA Cup, League Cup, three Community Shields, and one Europa League.

De Gea has also been the best fan of choice (Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year) in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2018. The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper completed it with the club’s Best Player of Choice in 2014, 2015 and 2018.

If his departure from Old Trafford was properly rehabilitated, fans would certainly be disappointed as their favorite players had left. Nevertheless, Man United, allegedly, has prepared a new plan if De Gea leaves.

The first plan was to find a new quality goalkeeper in Europe to replace him, such as targeting: Jan Oblak, Jordan Pickford, Alphonse Areola, or other top European names.

Then for the second plan, United does not need to recruit anyone as they can promote Sergio Romero as the team’s main goalkeeper. The 32-year-old goalkeeper has so far been De Gea’s coating, however, if given the chance to appear, Romero rarely appears disappointing.

Romero will compete with two other goalkeepers, namely: Lee Grant and Dean Henderson. The name said last is a 22-year-old United goalkeeper who is on loan at Sheffield United.

Henderson, who has also been loaned to Stockport County, Grimsby Town and Shrewsbury Town, has a large contribution in bringing in Sheffield under the directive of Chris Wilder to the Premier League 2019-20.
