DBasia.news – Everything runs linearly. Manchester United’s performance was improving under the care of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – only swallowing two defeats. But on the other side is different, the club is still eyeing a number of names to be imported next season.
Nevertheless, this doesn’t necessarily make United not devised a plan to bring in new players in the 2019 summer transfer market. One of the names that was called to be the main target is Barcelona’s mainstay midfielder, Ivan Rakitic.
But now the latest news from Sport English says that the Red Devils no longer made Rakitic a top priority. This was allegedly because the club began to believe in Paul Pogba’s performance. As is known, the French player is indeed back to being a mainstay in midfield and this season has scored a total of 14 goals from 36 matches.
The news related to Ivan Rakitic’s future has indeed recently come back to being the attention. Although the Croatian player has repeatedly expressed his desire to stay at Camp Nou, the discussion regarding his new contract have also not shown any significant progress.
The ex-Sevilla player’s opportunity to leave was also increasingly strengthened after Barcelona had first secured the signature of Frenkie de Jong who was purchased from Ajax. Although on the other hand Ernesto Valverde as the team manager also still considers Rakitic as one of the important players in the squad.
Ivan Rakitic started joining Barcelona in 2014, for almost four seasons in Blaugrana uniform, he has appeared in 255 matches with a score of 34 goals and 35 assists in all competitions.
The withdrawal of the Red Devils from hunting Rakitic does not fully make the Barca fans breathe freely, as the 31-year-old player was also reportedly included in the list of transfers of two of Europe’s top clubs, Inter Milan and Bayern Munchen.
