Manchester United Slumped, Van Der Sar: There Are No Players With Leadership Character

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  During difficult times, Manchester United is said to have no players with leadership characters anymore. This was revealed directly by former Manchester United player, Edwin van der Sar.

The Red Devils found the start of their worst season in the English Premier League with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the event this time, considering they are only two points away from the relegation zone because they only collected nine points from the first eight matches.

United’s situation is now inversely proportional when Van der Sar retired in 2011, with the former Dutch goalkeeper assessing in the Ole team there are no leaders.

“I think when I came to the dressing room, there were Ryan Giggs, (Paul) Scholes, (Rio) Ferdinand, (Gary) Neville and even Roy Keane at that time,” Van der Sar told ESPN FC.

“There are always lots of strong characters. And I think in the last two years, the players with strong character have all disappeared and no longer have differences.

“I left eight years ago and I had six extraordinary years in my career there, winning four Premier League trophies and playing in three Champions League finals.

“So now there is a long way from their current position. And of course they have changed managers several times but the progress has not yet been seen, because some of the new players they brought in in the summer.

“They bring young players, inexperienced, have the determination and hunger, not the big names they brought in the last six, seven years,” he added.
