Manchester United Wants to make Odion Ighalo’s Contract Permanent

By db-admin

DBasia.news –   According to the news published by Express, Manchester United was interested in making Odion Ighalo’s contract permanent from Shanghai Shenhua.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, former Watford and Udinese striker, has scored four goals. The 30-year-old played a role as a substitute for Marcus Rashford who was injured.

It did not take long for United to assess the performance. Despite being in his thirties and brought in as a replacement for Rashford, the club is satisfied with Ighalo’s performance and is interested in signing him permanently from Shanghai Shenhua.

Man United reportedly had to pay 15 million euros to make up for it permanently. The value is relatively cheap for a club of United’s caliber. Moreover, Solskjaer also hopes that the club can secure Ighalo’s contract.

“Odion has done very well since he came and enjoyed the game. He will develop and become better,” Solskjaer said about Ighalo.

“But he has the qualities we see in him and we need them and we will still need those qualities for next season, so let’s see what we will do.”

English football observer, Shaka Hislop, spoke to ESPN and believes Man United was not wrong in making a decision to secure Ighalo’s contract.

“He has (done it, performed well at United). “He still hasn’t scored a league goal but I think it’s unfair for Ighalo who, when called upon, has shown his quality,” Hislop stated.

“We saw that in the Europa League on Thursday (against LASK). “I think if you maintain it, it gives you a choice and I think Ighalo is more than happy to play as the second striker for Rashford who is suitable or whoever it is,” he explained.
