Mandzukic’s Alternative, Manchester United Ready to Recruit Edin Dzeko

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  The inactivity of Mario Mandzukic defending Juventus this season, has made Ole Gunnar Solskjaer consider looking for other veteran attackers. Reporting from ESPN, Solskjaer is targeting the former Manchester City bomber who is now grazing with AS Roma, Edin Dzeko.

Manchester United continues to hunt for new attackers in the 2020 winter transfer window. Understandably, the line of attackers is one of the Red Devils’ weak points this season.

Currently, Manchester United is relying on Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial. However, when the two players are unable to be played, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t have much choice. One of the remaining attackers is Mason Greenwood.

In recent weeks, Manchester United is reportedly incessantly making efforts to bring in Mario Mandzukic. However, after taking careful consideration, the Red Devils has eliminated this intention.

One of the reasons Manchester United did not bring Mandzukic is because the attacker has never appeared so far. That way, Mandzukic’s fitness level is doubtful. In addition, Mandzukic also demanded long-term contracts.

It did not take long for Manchester United to find a replacement for Mandzukic. Still struggling in Italy, Man United has chosen Edin Dzeko as the next target.

Manchester United assess Edin Dzeko’s ability is no less great than Mario Mandzukic. The proof, during 194 times defending Rome, Dzeko has achieved 93 goals.

However, it is not an easy matter for Manchester United to convince Roma to sell Dzeko. Last summer, the Giallorossi did everything possible to defend the player from being hunted by Inter Milan. As a result, the former Manchester City player has chosen to stay and extend his contract.
