DBasia.news – Sporting Lisbon midfielder, Bruno Fernandes. is a hot commodity targeted by several European clubs and Manchester United. Responding to the issue, Marcel Keizer, Sporting Sports Director, was pessimistic about Fernandes surviving this season.
Some media in Europe claim that representatives from the Red Devils will soon meet with Fernandes’ agent to discuss the potential of his transfer to Old Trafford. Responding to all of these situations, Keizer was pessimistic the 24-year-old midfielder will remain at Sporting.
“I want Bruno Fernandes to survive (at Sporting), but everyone knows the current situation, it is difficult to maintain. He is on vacation. We will see what will happen,” Keizer was quoted as saying by the Manchester Evening News.
Fernandes became the talk of Europe because of the brilliant performances he showed last season with Sporting. Despite being positioned as a midfielder, Fernandes was quite productive in scoring goals with a total of 28 goals and 14 assists in all competitions last season.
His great performance was inseparable from the observation of the former Man United manager, Jose Mourinho. Even The Special One praised the playing quality of the former Udinese and Sampdoria player.
“I was surprised by Bruno Fernandes’s season. It was easy to guess the quality, he was a very good player, but scored a very high number of goals for a central midfielder,” Mourinho said some time ago.
“It shows that you need instinct and quality to score and he has it all. He kicked the ball well, gore it right, and was calm when facing one on one with the goalkeeper. He found space in the penalty area. He possessed it all (ability). “
