DBasia.news – Real Madrid got humiliated in front of their supporters at Santiago Bernabeu on the last match of Group G Champions League, Thursday (13/12). Moreover, Madrid got defeated 0-3 and got mocked by the fans.
The failure didn’t change anything to Los Blancos status to the knockout round. Real Madrid have confirmed qualifying for that stage before the last matchday against CSKA Moscow.
But, the failure with a great score is a taboo thing for Real Madrid. The fullback and co-captain, Marcelo, admitted that. According to the Brasilian player, the fans have the right to mock them if they didn’t perform well.
“When the fans whistle, it’s clear that you have to change something and the fans have every right to do it. We’re hurt but we’re a team and we’re going to work so that it doesn’t happen again,” Marcelo said cited from Real Madrid official website, Thursday (13/12).
“We’re not happy because we can’t play like today and put on a show like that. We tried to give it a good go but the match didn’t go as we expected. At Real Madrid, you have to fight until the end. It was difficult to come back from 3-0 although we tried until the final whistle,” the 30-year-old man added.
The result was the worst record for Real Madrid in the Champions League home match. For the first time, Los Blancos got defeated in both home and away matches against the same team, CSKA Moscow, in the group phase within the past decade.
