Matteo Darmian Wants to Return to Serie A

DBasia.news – Since recruited in 2015, Matteo Darmian failed to shine with Manchester United. Many people believed his future doesn’t belong to the Premier League.

Statistically, he just got the regular playing time in the first season. But after that, he stays on the bench. Moreover now, he just performed in 86 matches.

Essentially, the 28-year-old player almost moved to SSC Napoli ahead of this season. Coach Carlo Ancelotti was interested in his talent. Unfortunately, Napoli didn’t reach the deal with Manchester United management.

Hence, now there are many teams ready to accept Darmian. The strongest candidate comes from the highest competition in his country: Serie A. Furthermore, three top teams: AS Roma, FC Internazionale, and Juventus FC are targetting him.

During an interview, Darmian indicated that he has to leave the Premier League. The Italy national team player wants to return to Serie A.

“United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, anyone must deserve the place and I work in light of this,” said the player who was born in Legnano, Italy.

“But of course I’d rather play more, even if it means leaving Manchester; where I dream of going back to is Italy, in Serie A, where I got a lot of satisfaction,” he added.

For your information, Darmian just played once for Manchester United this season. He played for 90 minutes when the team defeated Leicester City with a 2-1 score, on August 10, 2018.
