DBasia.news –  Arsenal issued a statement that his manager, Mikel Arteta, had been infected with the COVID-1 virus. The Gunners have examined all members of the team and carried out isolation.

Arsenal have become one of the Premier League clubs close to the corona virus victims. As at a meeting against Olympiacos (27/02), a number of Arsenal staff made contact with the visiting team president, Evangelos Marinakis, who was later found to be infected with the corona virus.

Apparently, what Arsenal avoided became a reality. After conducting the test, Mikel Arteta tested positive for corona virus infection.

“The training center in London Colney was closed after coach Mikel Arteta tested positive for COVID-19 tonight. The Arsenal player who recently made close contact with Arteta is currently being isolated according to government guidelines,” wrote the official Arsenal statement.

“We hope this will involve a large number of people from Colney including the main players, coaching staff, as well as a small portion of the academy players who will be temporarily closed as part of prevention.”

“We hope that those who have no contact with Arteta will return to work in the next few days. Meanwhile, the training center will undergo a deep cleaning and the rest of our club will operate as usual,” continued the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta immediately made a statement regarding his current condition. The manager wants to immediately return to training after recovering.

“This is really disappointing. However, I took the test after feeling sick. I will immediately work after getting permission,” said Arteta.

Arsenal’s statement regarding Mikel Arteta’s condition was only a few moments after the Premier League’s belief to keep running the competition. Now, the number one competition in England has a great chance of being suspended like other European Elite leagues.
