Mikel Arteta Impatient Debut in Europe

DBasia.news –  Mikel Arteta can’t wait for his European debut as a manager with Arsenal.  That will happen when the Gunners face Olympiakos in the European League.

 Arsenal will face Olympiacos at Karaiskakis Stadium in the first leg of the Europa League round of 32.  This match became Arteta’s debut in European competition as a manager.

 The man from Spain is impatient to wait for the debut match.  Arteta has a good enough capital ahead of the match against Olympiakos.

 In the last match, Arsenal managed to beat 4-0 over Newcastle United in the English League.  They also haven’t lost in the last eight matches.

 However, Arsenal still should not underestimate Olympiakos.  Because the Greek League champions are often troublesome London Cannon.  In the last five meetings of the two teams, Olympiakos defeated Arsenal three times.

 “I am very impatient, this is my first match in Europe as a manager. I have watched them a lot. They are very dominant in domestic competition,” Arteta was quoted as saying on the official Arsenal website.  They have a playstyle that relies on ball possession and is very comfortable with it.

 “Action in Europe is very different from the English League. We have to adapt to that,” he explained.

 Arteta most likely will not rotate in this fight.  He believes the match in Europe will not physically drain his players.

 “We have a good depth of squad and can rotate. But matches in Europe will not be more physical than the English League,” the 37-year-old added.
