DBasia.news – The Croatian midfielder Luka Modric revealed his biggest dream. He wants to retire with his club, Real Madrid.
Modric still has the contract with Real Madrid until June 2020. By achieving the world footballer of the year and won the 2018 Ballon d’Or, the midfielder would have a contract renewal by Madrid.
However, he thinks retiring in Madrid is not easy. The competition for the main squad is really tight. He must be at the top of his performance if he wants to stay at Santiago Bernabeu for a long time.
“My personal goal and big wish are to finish career in Real Madrid, that would be the ideal scenario. But to achieve that, I have to stay capable of playing at the top, at the highest level. That is not going to be easy,” he said.
“Most important thing for Real this year is to lift our level of play because we entered the complicated period after all big successes we achieved,” he added.
Modric joined Madrid since 2012. Previously, the 33-year-old player performed really well for Tottenham Hotspur.
