DBasia.news –  VAR (Video Assistant Referee) is used for the first time in the UK this season. Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian wing forward who strengthens Liverpool, is not a fan of VAR.

VAR, for the first time in the history of English football, was used this season after Serie A, LaLiga, the World Cup, and other tournaments or competitions using VAR. The drama in the use of VAR can be seen in the last two weeks of the Premier League.

Fans were enthusiastic and made nervous on waiting for the VAR’s decision, even Manchester City was twice disadvantaged by the VAR. One time against West Ham United, although in the end they still won a landslide victory, while the other when Gabriel Jesus’ goal against Tottenham Hotspur was annulled – a 1-1 draw.

Mo Salah and Liverpool have not felt the direct effects of VAR this season. However, the 27-year-old player was firm to admit he did not like VAR.

“I don’t like it (VAR), always, this is my answer. I don’t like it. I like football the way it is: like referees’ mistakes, sometimes with player aggressiveness,” Mo Salah stated in his interview with CNN.

“It doesn’t matter sometimes protecting players from dangerous games. But it doesn’t matter, this is it, this is my opinion, this could be the reason it exists, just to protect players.”

“But for me, I accept football with mistakes made by the referee, the mistakes of the players, I do not know, whatever it is. With that football becomes more interesting,” explained the former Basel player.

Although he does not like VAR, Mo Salah believes that with VAR, he will get more penalties this season. “more penalties for me, you will see it,” he continued.

Mo Salah had expressed this matter with reason, with the help of VAR, if there is an invisible violation by the referee in the restricted area to Mo Salah, then he and his team will have a great chance of getting a penalty.

In the last two seasons, Mo Salah really transformed into a star of the Reds. He scored a total of 71 goals in that time period and helped Liverpool win the Champions League and European Super Cup titles.
