Montpellier Goalkeeper Targeted by Barcelona to Replace Cillessen

Benjamin Lecomte
DBasia.news – Jasper Cillessen is predicted to leave Barcelona in the summer because he is not satisfied to only become the second goalkeeper after Marc-Andre ter Stegen. Benjamin Lecomte was targeted by Barca as a substitute for Cillessen.
Sport-English reported Lecomte wanted to move to a club that could give him a positive impression or memories he could remember in a professional career. Lecomte is 28 years old and currently strengthening Montpellier.
The Lorient academy product was loaned to Dijon in the 2013/14 season before it was purchased by Montpellier for 2.5 million euros in 2017. Since then, Lecomte has been the main goalkeeper of the team that Olivier Giroud has reinforced.
“What I want in my career is a moment that I can remember. Whether it’s here, other places in France, or abroad, I don’t know,” Lecomte said regarding PSG’s interest.
“I have targets that I want to achieve and this is a crucial moment in my career,” he continued.
Sevilla, PSG (Paris Saint-Germain), also targeted Paris-born goalkeeper, April 26, 1991. Lecomte could be Cillessen’s ideal substitute to become the second goalkeeper after Ter Stegen. At least, the chance to win a bigger trophy if he leaves to Barcelona.
