Mourinho Criticize MU’s Attacking Players

Jose Mourinho

DBasia.news – Manchester United’s inconsistency appeared to be seen in the Premier League. The Red Devils lost the point while playing against a promotional team, Wolverhampton Wanderers in the sixth week of Premier League.

Scored the goal from Fred, Wolves could balance the situation in the second round by Joao Moutinho’s kick and ended the match with a 1-1 score.

Wolves could easily counter every effort from Man United, despite the ball possession from the host. According to Jose Mourinho, Man United deserved the draw result considering the poor performance.

“I think the result is fair. They deserved their point and we deserve the punishment of only getting one point. They started better were more aggressive, had more intent and I don’t know why but they were more motivated,” Mourinho said after the match to Sky Sports.

Mourinho also satirized the attacking players who played motonously, not creative, and not attacking Wolves. Even though he didn’t mention it bluntly, these are Jesse Lingard, Romelu Lukaku, and Alexis Sanchez.

Especially the latter. The Chilean striker was benched during the 3-0 Man United’s victory against Young Boys in the Champions League, along with the expectation to perform fit in the match against Wolves. But in fact, the reality didn’t meet the expectation, so Sanchez got replaced by Anthony Martial in the second round.

“I was expecting more from my attacking players. There was not enough creativity, movement or dynamism. We made it quite easy for them to cope with our supremacy in last 20 minutes. Overall we don’t deserve more than this,” Mourinho said.

Man United have no plenty of time to mourn the draw result. They will have another match against Frank Lampard squad, Derby County in the third round of EFL Cup at Old Trafford on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at 2 am GMT+7.
