DBasia.news – Manchester United’s journey in the group phase of 2018-2019 Champions League closed with a failure. The Red Devils got defeated 1-2 against Valencia at Estadio Mestalla, despite they have secured the ticket to the knockout round.
Carlos Sorer at 17′ and Phil Jones own goal at 82′ contributed the victory. United just responded once by Marcus Rashford three minutes before the final whistle.
Mourinho wasn’t surprised by the result. “I didn’t learn anything from this game. Nothing that happened surprised me at all,” Mou said cited by Goal.
“Yes, job done in a difficult group. I don’t think we were brilliant in this group phase, but it’s enough to qualify and enough points with the squad we have and problems we have.”
Mou finished as the second in the Group H with three victories, one draw, and two defeats. They collected 10 points from 6 matches, enough for them to qualify for the knockout round of the Champions League.
