Mourinho’s Arrogance After Man United Qualify for Champions League Knock-Out

DBasia.news –  Manchester United keep on stealing the spotlight this season. Moreover, Man United still play inconsistently in the Premier League and stay in the 7th position.

But it’s different for Paul Pogba and friends for the Champions League match. Once believed would fail in the group qualification phase, The Red Devils finally secured one ticket in the big-16 after defeating the Switzerland team, Young Boys, with a 1-0 score on Wednesday (28/11).

Tired of the critics and insults that he got, the team manager Jose Mourinho has his strategy to counter it. Despite delivering the team to the big 16, the 55-year-old manager also scored an impressive record, never fail to deliver the team to the knock-out stage of Champions League.

“For some of my lovers, I just want to say: for the ones that like stats, 14 times in the Champions League, 14 times qualified through the group phases. Never one of my teams stayed in the group phase,” Mourinho said as cited by Evening Standard.

“The seasons I didn’t play in the Champions League, I won the Europa League,” he added.

The victory against Young Boys brings The Red Devils as the second rank of the Group H standing. Romelu Lukaku still has the chance to surpass Juventus as the leader if they defeat Valencia and Young Boys gain three points from Bianconeri.

The Champions League is no strange for Mourinho. The former Chelsea manager also won it in 2004 with FC Porto and 2010 with Inter Milan.
