Napoli Internal Conflict Heats Up

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Through the official website, Napoli is ready to bring the disciplinary issue of team players to the realm of law.

It all starts from the Champions League match against RB Salzburg in San Paolo on Wednesday (11/06) early morning Western Indonesian Time. The match ended 1-1 from Erling Braut Haaland’s goal (11’penalty) which was rewarded by Mexican player Hirving Lozano on 44 minutes.

After the match, the players and Carlo Ancelotti, the Napoli coach, boycotted and did not speak to the media in the press conference room. Aurelio De Laurentiis, President of Naples, then instructed the players and coaching staff to remain at the Napoli training center until Sunday (10/11).

However, the players ignored him and returned to their respective homes. Only Ancelotti came to Napoli’s training center, Castel Volturno, and reported to the club. That sparked anger in Naples who gave an ultimatum.

“The club announced, regarding the attitude of the players yesterday, Tuesday 5 November 2019 (local time), then it will continue to protect economic rights, capital, images, and the level of discipline in each area of competent jurisdiction,” said a statement on the official Naples website.

“This is also to clarify the responsibility for deciding on the day that is requested at the (training center) rests with the coach, Carlo Ancelotti. The attitude of silence to the media has been requested (the club) from now until an undetermined time.”

The decisive statement from Napoli heated the club’s internal situation. The players are reportedly disappointed with De Laurentiis’s attitude, who previously said the players needed motivation after starting the worst start in Serie A for almost a decade.

Ancelotti did not agree with the statement of the man who was also the producer of the film. Napoli is currently in seventh place in 11 matches, taking 18 points and 11 points adrift of Juventus at the top of the table.

Napoli’s position is even under AS Roma, Lazio, Atalanta, and Cagliari, who surprisingly competed in the top flight of the 2019-20 Serie A season. This makes De Laurentiis disappointed because he has invested 100 million euros this summer.

Napoli recruited Hirving Lozano, Konstantinos Manolas, Alex Meret (permanent), Eljif Elmas, and Giovanni Di Lorenzo. In fact, they managed to defend Kalidou Koulibaly, Fabian Ruiz, and Lorenzo Insigne from the pursuit of other top European clubs.

Before the 2019-20 season, Napoli was a constant contender for Juventus to win the Scudetto. In the 2017-18 season, under the direction of Maurizio Sarri, Napoli even approached Juventus with a distance of four points in the order of two standings.
