DBasia.news – The term Chelsea Loan Army refers to the Blues players who are loaned to other clubs. So much so, they can be formed like a battalion of soldiers. Some players were successful and some were not as they returned to Chelsea.
One of the Blues’ young players stole Nathan Ake’s attention. He even had time to return to Stamford Bridge before the loan period at Bournemouth ended in the 2016/17 season.
But before, the Dutch player revealed that he had felt sad and hurt at the same time with the treatment of the previous Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho. He was only once let out by the manager who also managed Real Madrid and Milan.
“I made it into Chelsea’s main squad during Rafael Benitez’s coaching era. Then I thought ‘why do people always talk about the setbacks that will happen, even though what happens is the opposite?’ After Rafa Benitez left, I feel optimistic that the next season will go well, “Ake said as quoted by the Evening Standard.
“Then Jose Mourinho came and without ever undergoing a training session, I was excluded from the main squad and returned to strengthen the junior team. It really became the hardest time during my career as a footballer. Even mentally, I felt very broken,” he continued.
“Previously, everything went well, I played several matches and was selected as the best young player, but then was returned to the junior squad,” concluded the 24-year-old player.
The difficulty in competing with Chelsea’a min squad made Ake then choose to return to Bournemouth, this time with a permanent status. The player born in The Hague, Netherlands is now a mainstay of Eddie Howe and has appeared in 82 matches with a record of eight goals and three assists in all competitions.
